Worrying Report Finds Many Building Defects in Newly Built Homes

With the building industry continuing to struggle with the lack of materials and the labour shortage, our Founder and MD Elias Oostveen spoke to The West Australian about the necessity of progress/staged building inspections to ensure that building standards are maintained.

The headline is exceptionally harsh. We don’t believe builders are deliberately letting standards slip. The majority are very understanding and quick to react when a Progress building report highlights an issue and when it comes to rectifying work. It’s much better for all to find an issue early when it’s easy to correct rather than later when it’s more difficult and more expensive to fix.

Progress building inspections or staged inspections help builders keep on top of quality control as builds move from stage to stage.

We see you have added an Electrical, Plumbing and Gas inspection (EPG) with a Pre-Settlement inspection.

Please note these are very similar inspections, just performed at different times. The EPG occurs during your pre-purchase inspection, while the Pre-Settlement occurs 5-7 days before settlement.

If you require both please proceed to check out. Alternatively, remove one and continue.
