New Home Construction in Perth

The Perth New Home building boom has pulled many builders out of the woodwork. When the New Home building stimulus grant package was announced back in 2020, the Building Commission experienced a massive influx of building practitioners applying for their building contractor registration. Some of these builders have not built for a while and may not have connections with quality trades and secure access to materials.

This New Home building boom has only just begun and we’re already seeing construction delays due to tradesmen and material availability.

Anyone building a new home wants it to be built to their expectations, within a reasonable timeframe and without any issues down the track.

A Good Build Starts with a Good Builder

From our experience, it is highly recommended in these extremely busy times to choose a builder that has substance and is well established.

Being a member of an industry association like the Housing Industry Association (HIA) and Master Builders Association (MBA) are good starting points.

A builder that has won industry awards demonstrates they are serious about build quality and customer service. I would recommend you read some of the builder’s reviews/testimonials or wherever possible, speak to some of their past clients. Ask to see some of the work so you can check out the quality of the homes they have built.

The best builders take workmanship seriously and insist their supervisors are Registered Builders. We strongly recommend you choose a builder who employs supervisors that are registered builders.

Choose a builder that does not obstruct you from checking the quality at various stages. You should choose a builder that has nothing to hide and welcomes inspections at various stages throughout the build.

If you need a hand and want to be proactive about the quality build of your home, book your first inspection or call us on 08 6184 5624 to talk through the stages of your build with Home Integrity being your partner through this process.
